Dumfries & Galloway Social Enterprise Network (DGSEN)
DGSEN has commissioned Nithsdale Council of Voluntary Service to carry out a short survey of the network.

The aims of the survey are for DGSEN to gain a better understanding of how social enterprise organisations in the network access relevant training and for DGSEN to identify any training that would assist social enterprise organisations in the network build their capacity and sustainability.

DGSEN plans to develop a short programme of training workshops/seminars and a conference networking event over the next 12 months. Participation in the survey will assist DGSEN in ensuring these activities reflect the needs of the network.

The survey should take no more than 10 mins to complete and all responses will be handled with due regard to data protection procedures.

Nithsdale Voluntary Sector Forum
NCVS is facilitating the development of a Forum for community & voluntary sector organisations based in Nithsdale, or that provide services in Nithsdale, to come together on a regular basis to network, share issues and collectively engage with the community planning process. The Allotment
Nithsdale CVS in partnership with NHS Dumfries & Galloway have created an exciting new enterprise called ‘the allotment’ – a retail unit at 8 Great King Street, Dumfries selling affordable, good quality fruit and vegetables. This initiative developed from a successful pilot project providing subsidised fruit and vegetables. Walking Works Information
Health Walks offer regular short, safe and fun walks for people who want to improve their health by getting out and about in their local communities. Nithsdale CVS delivers 2 projects in Nithsdale  but there are also similar projects across the region. Scottish Government and Local Authority Concordat
The Scottish Government and Local Authorities in Scotland have signed a 10yr Concordat which outlines Themes and Outcome Indicators Local Authorities have to achieve for the funding they will receive. If you are a community group or voluntary sector organisation that receives funding from Dumfries and Galloway Council you need to ensure your activities fit with the new themes and that you contribute to the indicators. Dumfries & Galloway Council Draft Single Outcome Agreement
The drafting of a Single Outcome Agreement is part of the process for delivering on the concordat. It will show how Dumfries and Galloway community planning partners are going to use their funding to develop services within the region whilst contributing to the national outcomes set by the Scottish Government. is a resource for the community and voluntary sector in the Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway , Scotland , UK.

Nithsdale CVS has been in existence since 1979 and is the successor of the Dumfries Action Centre.

Nithsdale CVS is an independent membership organisation with a Board of Directors elected from our membership groups.

We work in partnership with other local CVS in Dumfries & Galloway and the South of Scotland.

There are 57 CVS (Councils for Voluntary Service) across Scotland working to a National Core Standards Framework. All CVS organisations in Scotland are members of the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).
