Nithsdale CVS represents the interests of local community and voluntary sector in the Community Planning process. Nithsdale CVS has representation on and participates in the following partnerships:

Nithsdale CVS also works in partnership with the other CVS in Dumfries and Galloway and is part of the South of Scotland CVS network:

Community Planning
Nithsdale CVS is a signed up partner to the Community Planning process in Dumfries and Galloway. The main themes of Community Planning are:

  • Smarter
  • Safer and Stronger
  • Wealthier and Fairer
  • Healthier and Happier
  • Greener 

Nithsdale Local Rural Partnership is designed to deliver more'bottom up' input into the Community Planning process. Nithsdale CVS is the Vice Chair and voluntary sector representative on the Nithsdale Local Rural Partnership and leads on the Wealthier & Fairer and Smarter Working Groups. South of Scotland European Partnership (SoSEP)
This partnership oversees the allocation and management of funds from the European Regional Development Fund, Objective 2. This fund is directed at economic regeneration of the South of Scotland, in terms of Competitive Enterprises, Area regeneration, and people and Communities.
Full details of the Single Programming Document which determines the criteria for grants (which have to be 50% match funded) and other criteria can be obtained by logging on to www.sosep.org.
