Nithsdale CVS provides support services and resources for the local community and voluntary sector. These include:

  • Funding advice
  • Good governance advice for community groups and voluntary sector organisations
  • Information services
  • Office services
  • Training

Funding Advice
We can assist organisations to identify potential funders and help with completion of funding applications. We stock a wide range of different funders application forms and have a computer based search programme called FUNDERFINDER which can more accurately match your needs with specific funders. Nithsdale CVS member groups can access Funderfinder at our office and use our Making Good Funding Applications guide. For more information contact karen.lewis@ncvs.org.uk.

Good Governance for Voluntary and Community Organisations

Nithsdale CVS can provide advice on:

  • Appropriate organisational legal structures e.g. constitutions, company limited by guarantee, obtaining charitable status
  • Good practice and governance issues e.g. equal opportunities, roles & responsibilities of committee members and board members, becoming an employer, policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and evaluation e.g establishing systems which measure the outputs, outcomes and impact of your activities
  • Financial management e.g. planning and managing budgets, business planning, financial reporting

Disclosure Scotland Checks
Nithsdale CVS is now registered with CRBS to carry out Disclosure Checks on staff and volunteers working within the voluntary sector in Nithsdale. For more information contact suzanne.lafferty@ncvs.org.uk

Information Services
We carry an extensive library of resources and community information for use by our membership including; local statistical and community research information, annual reports, consultation documents, local, regional and national policy documents, advice on community engagement, fundraising, management and training. Office Services
We offer affordable photocopying, desk top publishing and will help community groups produce posters, newsletters, adverts, leaflets, campaign material, etc. We also provide word processing, ring binding and laminating. We are happy to promote members events or services in our newsletter and on our community information display at Nithsdale CVS. For more information contact jeanette.murray@thehubdg.org.uk.

Training
Nithsdale CVS provides a wide range of training sessions for the community and voluntary sector.
